65-75K plus 10%bonus SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the overall quality and process control management effort. The incumbent will manage resources to optimize quality systems from the point a product leaves the vendor to the point of delivery to the customer. Key metrics of performance will be customer defect rates, Service level agreements, departmental and procedural audit data for the site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the facility quality and process audit personnel for quality/quantity of work
Train Portland personnel on quality and process procedures as needed.
Create, update, manage and ensure compliance for all quality and procedural processes.
Maintain and foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment in support of the teams goals and the company culture of contribution
Manage the site's quality plan, and inspection process. Develop supported recommendations for inspection criteria, sampling quantities, and test procedures
Lead ISO level process audits throughout the site and where needed provide support to other sites.
Support Corporate Quality Department in audits, tests, product analysis, and corrective action reports.
Ensure compliance readiness for Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
Manage the inspection database, control sample database and reject database
Develop and provide accurate and timely metrics that support site and corporate quality measurement
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects throughout the facility.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent will manage the site quality team of 4 to 8 and the process control team of 8 10 hourly contributors and temporaries. This will also have a salaried position reporting to the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Use of measurement and test gauges. Calipers, force tests, thread gauges, hardness tests
Ability to read and interpret test results, read CAD drawings
Ability to perform statistical quality analysis of process controls, sampling, regression analysis and other techinique to identify probability of failure, failure modes and corrective actions.
Knowledge of continuous improvement tools such as six sigma, pareto, fishbone diagrams, FMEA, SPC.
Ability to lead and manage floor contributor team
Ability to operate material handling equipment and handle product weight up to 50 lbs safely.
Ability to use Access, Excel, and like databases to derive and manipulate data for analysis.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years experience with quality management in a manufacturing environment, or 2 years with BS degree in Engineering or Quality Management
Experience in a ISO organization or related expertise
Automotive products familiarity or mechanical experience preferred
OE Tier 1 or 2 experience preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
